To perform an Internet Speed Test click the Internet Speed Test button.
After a brief time, this speed test app produces the following results:
Download Speed and Upload Speed
Download: from our servers, via Internet, to your computer.
Upload: from your computer, via Internet, to our servers.
Both speeds are given Kbps, Mbps, or Gbps:
Kbps – kilobits per secondMbps – megabits per secondGbps – gigabits per secondPing Time
Average time in milliseconds for a ping to go from your computer to our servers,
and back to your computer. We send several pings, and we average the ping times.
Ping Time Jitter
Ping-time jitter in milliseconds, is a measure of variability in the ping-times.
This test pings our servers several times, from your computer.
Jitter is the standard deviation of the ping-time samples obtained during the ping test.
About the Internet Speed Test
Browsers
Your browser can have a significant effect on your Internet download speed,
and also on your Internet upload speed.
We compared the network performance of several modern browsers, and we discovered that
some of the browsers have 50% higher (faster) network performance than other browsers.
Physical Location
Physical distance between your computer and the server that you are trying to access,
can have a significant effect on download speeds from that server,
and also on upload speeds to that server.
If your computer is located a long distance from our servers, your Internet speed could be
better to other servers that are closer to you, when compared to the speeds shown by this test.
