The 2014 Audi R8 V10 Plus features a performance version of the 5.2 liter Audi V10, rated at 550 hp at 8000 RPM and 398 lb-ft of torque at 6500 RPM. The standard 5.2 liter Audi V10 makes 525 hp at 8000 RPM and 391 lb-ft of torque at 6500 RPM.

A new Audi S-Tronic seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission can be had with either V10 engine, and is purported to shift quicker than the available six-speed manual. The 0-60 mph numbers provided by Audi for the V10 Plus with the S-Tronic versus the manual transmission are 3.3 and 3.7 seconds respectively, suggesting that the S-Tronic is indeed a very quick shifting gearbox.
